John Boyega is hoping for longer fight scenes for Finn in Star Wars 9. As Lucasfilm successfully relaunched Star Wars in 2015, they did so by securing multiple talented leads. While nostalgia pointed to many wanting to see what Luke, Han, and Leia had been up to, The Force Awakens introduced and focused on its new leads. Boyega filled one of those roles as Finn, where he had excellent chemistry with both Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Oscar Isaac (Poe). After a breakout role, fans were understandably eager to see how he’d continue on in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.Instead of once again being a favorite part, Finn’s arc was the subject of much scrutiny. His mission to Canto Bight felt out of place to some and not everyone bought into his relationship with newcomer Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran). Finn’s story ultimately left viewers wanting more, especially when it came to the action. Boyega tends to agree and is hoping that changes in Episode … [Read more...] about John Boyega Wants Bigger Fight Scene in Star Wars 9

Andy Serkis is happy to stoke the speculation of a Snoke return in Star Wars Episode 9. The ominous figure at the top of the First Order, Snoke and his mysterious backstory was one of the most anticipated parts of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. But Johnson’s radical Star Wars movie left many Snoke fans dissatisfied — and unfortunately, they will likely stay that way. Unless Serkis’ many interviews needling for Snoke’s return can garner the attention of J.J. Abrams. Minor spoilers for The Last Jedi follow. Throughout Force Awakens, Snoke was teased as the heir apparent to the original trilogy’s Big Bad, Emperor Palpatine. But in Last Jedi, those expectations were flipped when Kylo Ren unceremoniously kills his master and mentor and assumes rule of the First Order. It was a grisly end for Snoke, and a pretty finite one at that. But he is the most powerful villain in the Star Wars universe after all — could he make a … [Read more...] about Could Snoke Return in ‘Star Wars Episode 9’? Andy Serkis Would Be “Very Happy To”
x Who is Rey, exactly? She’s definitely not a Skywalker, nor is she a member of the Kenobi clan; as a matter of fact, after Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we know Daisy Ridley’s scavenger is a nobody – a luckless orphan cast astray on the sands of Jakku. It’s a fairly shocking (and bold!) move on Rian Johnson’s part, who made a conscious effort to remind viewers that, in Star Wars, heroism isn’t contingent on one’s heritage, which is a pretty huge departure for a franchise so caught up with “chosen ones” and destiny. But even despite the answers that The Last Jedi brought us, there are still those who don’t believe Rey is really just a nobody. And one individual who thinks we may get some more info in the next chapter of the saga, Star Wars: Episode IX, is none other than the movie’s composer, John Williams. Star Wars: The Last Jedi Blu-Ray Slated For March; Special … [Read more...] about Rey’s Parents May Be Identified In Star Wars: Episode IX
Star Wars: The Last Jedi polarized many fans over some of the film’s shocking twists and turns. Right after Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there were two particular mysteries that fans speculated over for nearly two years: who is Supreme Leader Snoke? Who are Rey’s parents? Well, for those who had sky high expectations on those two mysteries, writer/director Rian Johnson subverted all of those fan theories by having Kylo Ren kill Snoke to usurp power as the new Supreme Leader as well as dismissing those Rey parentage theories with the revelation that she’s offspring of two long-deceased junk traders. Many fans were disappointed at the revelation that Rey was not related to anyone from the pre-established canon. Many guessed that she was also part of the Skywalker bloodline while some speculated that she’s a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi. But as it stands right now, Rey is a random young woman who is forging her own path despite coming from nowhere. … [Read more...] about John Williams Speculates Rey’s Parentage Reveal In ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’
x “It’s just us now.” The official novelization of Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues to yield truly fascinating intel from Rian Johnson’s sequel, and the latest morsel of information concerns the grieving General Leia Organa and, more specifically, her final words to Chewbacca on the Millennium Falcon. Having escaped the mineral world of Crait by the skin of their teeth, Leia and the remnants of the Resistance begin making preparations for life after Luke Skywalker, who so heroically gave his life so that Rey – so that hope – could live on. But according to The Last Jedi’s novelization, one penned by New York Times best-selling author Jason Fry, that bittersweet finale almost included an exchange between Leia and Chewie, where the former looks up to her Wookiee ally and says “it’s just us now.” We’re not crying, you’re crying!
